Faith Quartet began in 1997 while Wes Burke was in college at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.  On a trip back home to Munford, he, his father Bill, and his brother Jeff discovered that their good friend, Lawrence Jerry, was a high tenor singer and a fan of Southern Gospel Music.  They practiced one afternoon and performed their first song that night at their home church, Faith Baptist, in Atoka, TN.  That night, as they performed the Cathedrals song "Come Home," Faith Quartet was born.

The quartet continued to sing on the rare occasions that Wes came home from college, and when Wes moved back to Munford in February of 1999, the group really started to jell.  At first, Wes pulled double duty singing baritone and playing piano, but after a while they convinced the church's Praise Band to play behind them.  Faith Quartet has been blessed to have opened for such groups as the Kingdom Heirs, Kingsmen, Perrys, and Won By One.  They have also performed onstage at the Tipton County BBQ Festival and at the Tipton County monthly Gospel Singing.
